Lost on the Thame road, probably near the layby: one left walking boot, size nine, brown, laces still tied in the knot of a man in a hurry. How it left the car without the right one is a question my family have decided says something about me generally. The right one is here and is now simply a sad ornament.

Two more from this week
  • Marcus Threlfall, mobile knife and tool sharpening, serving Haddenham, Dinton and the villages between. I will come to your kitchen, sharpen everything in the drawer, and then stand quietly while you discover that your bread knife has been lying to you since 2014. I do garden shears as well, though I will have opinions about how they were stored.Box C035
  • For sale: one hot tub, four person, bought in a week when the sun was out and we briefly became different people. It has been covered since October with a tarpaulin that has developed its own small ecosystem, and something is living under the steps that we have agreed not to investigate. Buyer collects, buyer drains, buyer explains to their own spouse why the patio now has a pale rectangle on it.Box C031
