Accessibility

We want everyone who wants to read the Herald to be able to. We aim to meet the international accessibility standard (WCAG 2.2, level AA). A review on 3 October 2026 found the site close to it, and the problems it found were fixed the same day: faint form borders, forms that did not tell a screen reader when something was wrong, pages without a main heading, a front-page carousel that kept moving under the keyboard, and links that opened a new tab without saying so.

What we know is still short of the standard

  • The front-page story pictures carry the headline on a dark gradient, and the contrast is lower than the standard asks in places.
  • The print edition is not yet available in an accessible format.

If something does not work for you

Email editor@haddenham.news and say which page and what went wrong. We will reply within 7 days, and we can send any story in another format if that helps.
