Free to a good home: approximately two hundred back issues of a magazine about dry stone walling, bound by year, smelling faintly of a loft. My husband subscribed in a period of his life we have agreed to call the Walling Years. They must go together, as splitting them up feels unkind to everyone involved including the walls.

Two more from this week
  • Dennis Marchbank, hedges, lawns and the sort of tidying up that nobody notices until it stops. Operates a strict policy of never cutting anything back harder than the customer has emotionally prepared for. Available weekday mornings, and will discuss your hedge at a length you may not have budgeted for.Box C014
  • Lost somewhere between the village green and the bakery: one reading glasses case, tartan, containing no glasses, because the glasses were on my head the entire time and the case has become the only part of the story I can still salvage. Sentimental value, in the sense that it was a gift from somebody who will ask about it. No reward, but considerable relief.Box C015
